TIQRI believes in corporate social responsibility and the importance it has in the sustainability of the business. Therefore, TIQRI started a Kids Code Club as an initiative to inculcate the programming skills of kids in Sri Lanka. This program was inaugurated in November 2016 and every month the TIQRI team gets together to support this cause.
Our goal is simply to teach children to code. We believe that a basic understanding of software engineering provides a set of fundamental skills that is vital, both to the child’s future and the future of the global economy. It’s not just about STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math), but also about liberal arts: being able to think critically about problems is the first step to finding solutions. An early introduction to computer science is an investment in the future.
This is a program that has been started in Colombo and will be expanded throughout the country with the help of external partners and the other companies in the IT industry.
